Neigbourhood Recycling in Moncton, New Brunswick picks up and processes all alcoholic beverage containers from the 78 Redemption Centres in the province.
Beverage Container Refunds
Following is an outline of the refunds we pay to our customers as defined by the New Brunswick Department of Environment and The Beverage Containers Act.
1. All non alcoholic containers regardless of size or material carry a five cent refund provided they meet standards set by the Dept. of Environment.
2. Alcohol containers 500ml and under regardless of material carry a five cent refund provided they meet standards set by the Dept. of Environment. (excluding industry standard beer bottles)
3. Alcohol containers over 500ml regardless of material carry a ten cent refund provided they meet standards set by the Dept. of Environment.
4. Industry standard beer bottles (refillable) carry a ten cent refund provided they meet standards set by Moosehead Breweries. Industry standard bottles are domestic beer only. ie Moosehead, Labatt, Molson, Budweiser.
Dept of Environment Standards: All containers must have been purchased in New Brunswick, have original labels on, be free of fluid and debris, and should not be crushed, flattened or broken.
Moosehead Breweries Standards: Beer bottles must be in dry beer cases with flaps tucked in or removed. Cases are not to have garbage in them. Bottles must be free of fluid and debris. Broken or chipped bottles will not be accepted.
Resource Recovery Standards: Bags of bottles that contain an unacceptable amount of garbage or unacceptable items, will be returned to the customer until they meet our standards.
